Kurt McKeithan is the founder and principal designer of McKeithan Design Studio, a Nashville-based, full-service interior design firm recognized for its refined yet deeply personal approach to residential and boutique commercial interiors. With more than two decades of experience, Kurt has built a body of work defined by thoughtful layering, quiet confidence, and an unwavering commitment to spaces that feel lived-in, collected, and enduring.
Kurt’s work has earned national recognition, with projects featured in leading design and lifestyle publications, reflecting the studio’s reputation for creating interiors that balance sophistication with authenticity and long-term livability.

Kurt’s creative foundation was shaped early by years spent living abroad in Paris and London, where daily exposure to historic architecture, fine art, and European design culture instilled an appreciation for proportion, restraint, and craftsmanship. He later studied at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, where his interest in spatial storytelling and materiality took shape.  Before launching his own studio, Kurt began his professional career with the high-end Dutch interior design company Leif. There, he refined his understanding of furniture design, construction, and the importance of quality materials, lessons that remain central to his design philosophy today. 

After relocating to Nashville, Kurt founded McKeithan Design Studio that quickly established itself through a collaborative, client-focused process that prioritizes listening first. Rather than imposing a signature look, Kurt and his team approach each project as a conversation, translating personal histories, daily routines, and long-term needs into spaces that feel both elevated and deeply authentic. At the core of Kurt McKeithan’s work is the belief that great design is experiential. A space should not only be beautiful, but functional, intuitive, and emotionally resonant, a place that supports daily life while telling a story that feels honest, personal, and lasting.
