Inspiration has never been an issue for V.P. Design and Product Strategy, David Kitts.  “Coming up with ideas and concepts has never been as difficult for me or the design team as deciding which concepts and designs to not move forward with – to shred.”
 
A lot of different factors goes into what is selected and what is not. Each concept and design is viewed not necessarily on its individual merits but, like a single dish on a tasting menu, it needs to stand out while working together with the entire menu.
 
“Fortunately I love to cook and I often find myself like a chef mixing and matching dishes:  different flavors from different designers and different ingredients from different sources, working with our own strengths, but at the same time stretching our limits. With the help of the entire company, our goal is to pull together a menu that gives our customer the best Hubbardton Forge experience possible.”

David Kitts has been leading Hubbardton Forge's Design evolution since 2009. His Mechanical Engineering degree from Cornell and Industrial Design degree from Pratt Institute bring a balanced approach to the challenges of effectively designing for a domestic manufacturer.
